WRITER'S STRIKE

It has been reported that Hollywood writers are paid a minimum of $30,000 an episode for prime time television writing. Even soap opera writers rake in that much for 7 days worth of work. To put it into perspective, in only a week writers pull in the same amount of money as most Hollywood support staffers make in a year. From where I'm standing, it looks like the selfish and greedy members of the writer's guild are the Grinch that stole the support staffer's Christmas. If it wasn't for the studio executives the writers wouldn't even have a platform for which to make a living with. Perhaps the writers should venture out on their own and become the sole owners of their content by becoming studio executives themselves. It would be interesting to see if things would be any different than they are already.
