HEROES

There are those who will throw the word "hero" at anyone for any particular reason. Especially those who have been dealing with a terminal disease or have overcome difficult personal circumstances. I believe those are just situations that you are forced to confront as a participant in the game of life. In my humble opinion, heroes do not expect to be financially rewarded for good deeds that benefit others. For instance, I would not consider myself a hero if I happened to be a fireman or policeman, because it's my job to place my life on the line to protect others. If I don't like what the work requires of me then I always have the option to quit and become a florist or politician.

There are unsung champions out there that we have all taken for granted. And those heroes happen to be laboratory rats and mice. These enslaved creatures are forced to inhale hazardous chemicals, ingest unproven medicine, genetically altered to receive tumors, and purposefully infected with human diseases. It is estimated that over 6 million lab rats and mice are terminated for experimental purposes
in the U.S. alone. Yet, humans refuse to pay proper homage to the furry beasts. Currently, there is no statutory holiday called "Rodent Day", nor no statues or monuments paying tribute to their multitude of tiny sacrifices.

MOVIE CLICHES

If I received a nickel for every time a Hollywood movie stated the phrase, "Hang on!", I'd have more than enough money to produce my own big budgeted action film called "Hang On!"

ROCK STARS

Often popular mainstream musicians will say that they love what they do, are passionate about music and performing in front of a live audience, yet won't do any of the aforementioned unless they're paid a substantial sum for their appearance. You hear of some musicians raking in tens of millions of dollars each after they've completed their tours. Some of those performers don't even bother to put forth the effort to sing, but lazily lip sync to their own songs instead. If they truly loved what they were doing, is it absolutely necessary for "entertainers" to charge much more than what they need to get comfortably by on for their tickets?

The bottom line is that successful music performers are no better than greedy company CEO's.
